Hello Dear Clients!! August 2, 2020
I hope you are well and enjoying summer. I just wanted to give you un update about the status of my practice and to get an idea of how you are feeling about future work with me:)
For starters, I’ve been doing more pure SE-type sessions (without “memory” touch or intentional touch) online than ever. That seems to be working well for most people, myself included:) The other new development since Covid is a thing called “intentional touch.” I did learn this in my initial touch trainings but didn’t pay much attention to it because I knew that I was allowed to touch people! So now, all of the touch trainings are teaching this first, and will be in this mode until we can safely travel and meet for trainings again in person. “Intentional Transforming Touch” has the same intention and healing model that the usual “Transforming Touch” (what you are used to me doing), we are still working in attachment and developmental trauma. The difference is that because there is no literal touch, we use a focusing technique that is participated in by both of us. That has proved to be incredibly powerful. So intentional touch is different, but just as effective, I could even argue that for some people or in some circumstances, it is more effective!
For a free taste of this work, one of my teacher’s head assistants (Kathleen Love) is doing a free guided protocol on Fb (you don’t need to be a Facebooker) every Wed at (9:00 am our time). If you are interested in checking it out, the link is:
https://www.facebook.com/Transforming-the-Experience-Based-Brain-121417861845087/?mc_cid=1d82460dbb&mc_eid=7b938c5dcb. There is usually at least recording up.
That being said, I have experimentally started seeing a few clients in person. I was not sure how being masked would affect attachment or perhaps trigger medical or other traumas. After some adjustment (and more generalized familiarity after 5 months of mask-wearing:) I am thinking that for most people, it will not be insurmountable. And I am getting used to wearing one for several hours at a time. Under massage therapy rules for reopening there are a whole slough of rules and regs that I can comply with.
So as I am considering re-opening, I am trying to get a feel for how many clients are wanting to return at this time. I would also encourage those who have been hesitant to try online to give it a go!….especially if you are worried about coming in person:) Whatever your reply is, I won’t hold you to it. If you say yes and then change your mind, that’s fine. And if you say no and change your mind that is also fine. I am just trying to get a ballpark so I can plan safely for all of us! Please let me know by text or email his week if possible:) Aslo, if you are thinking you'd like to continue, please indicate frequence...how often you'd like to have an appointment.
Thank you so much for your time and I wish you the best!
Hugs,
Amy
